Honouring Diverse Indigenous Journeys at IYR

IYR defines Indigenous as status and non-status First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. We understand that due to colonialism, many Indigenous Peoples have been disconnected from their communities through no fault of their own and may be on a journey to reconnect.

In-person launch

Date: September 18-21, 2025
Thursday and Sunday will mainly be for travel, with programming happening on Friday/Saturday.
Flight dates/times may vary depending on the options available from the locations of successful applicants.
IYR can provide letters of support to help with folks who may need assistance requesting time off from their employers to attend this event.

Your Commitment

The Indigenous Youth Policy School is a 9-month commitment and participants are expected to make time in their schedules to regularly attend their sessions on Tuesday evenings (there will be a few scheduled breaks and a Holiday closure). We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent youth from attending 100% of sessions, so we just ask for communication in those instances.
