About Chante Speidel (she/her)

Chante is from the Sapotaweyak Cree Nation and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. She is recognized for her dedication to advocacy and leadership. In 2017, she rose to national prominence as the youth ambassador for the Manito Ahbee Festival, where she raised awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG2S+). As part of her advocacy, Chante wore a ribbon skirt daily for a year to draw attention to this critical issue. Her passion for social change has led her to speak on various platforms across Turtle Island, where she continues to advocate for Indigenous rights and youth empowerment. She leads Techa Oaye, a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering Indigenous youth through leadership development.
