Bert Whitecrow (she/they)
Bert Whitecrow is a Two-Spirited, Anishinaabae, multidisciplinary artist from Seine River First Nation (Jiima’aaganing). Their work centres on visual storytelling, through preserving and practicing ancestral knowledge. Bert has worked as a facilitator, educator, and artist for several years and has participated in numerous public art projects and shows around T’karonto
Sydney Wreaks (she/they)
Sydney Wreaks a mixed euro-settler and Kanien’keha:ka On:kwe. Who is an artist, educator, and researcher. They focus on social engaged participatory projects that challenge colonial narratives, by refocusing on community and care; By turning to ways community connects, that inherently disrupt notions of individualism. They work with archives, field-notes, printed ephemera, painting and beadwork.
Natalie Laurin (she/her)
Natalie Laurin (she/her) is a Métis and settler woman with family roots in the Georgian Bay Métis community. As an emerging illustrator and designer, her passion for merging visual storytelling and cultural education has led to engaging collaborations with talented authors. She hopes to continue these collaborations and inspire youth through themes of relationship-building and community. Check out her recent work with Strong Nations (Andy’s Tribal Canoe Journey, Cedar School Decodables), Orca Book Publishers (One Beaded Earring), and Kegedonce Press (Nipugtug).
Behdahbuhn (she/her)
Behdahbuhn is an advocate and aspiring author from Walpole Island First Nation, representing the Anishnaabe, Odawa, Potawatomi, and Lenape tribes. They are the founder of Behdahbuhn Publishing Co., dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices through storytelling. Currently pursuing a BA in Creative Writing, they lead the “Hangover Soup for the Spirit” pilot project, combining community work with advocacy for disability justice and uplifting youth voices. With their writing and public speaking, they aim to bring attention to critical social issues and empower others to take action.
