Ottawa, ON- Indigenous Youth Roots (IYR) is excited to announce a new 2-year funding partnership with Manulife providing support for programs and activities taking place in Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo, Montreal, Halifax and Vancouver.

The $250,000 in funding will go towards various initiatives including 40 Indigenous youth-led projects and capacity building workshops for project leaders. It will also support two land-based programming events offered through IYR’s In Motion program, and our upcoming 2025 Indigenous Youth Gathering. These initiatives will empower Indigenous youth to lead the change they wish to see for their communities and create opportunities for youth to connect to the land, their communities, and each other.

“Funders like Manulife allow IYR to empower and support Indigenous youth who are making impactful change in their communities. Through our partnership, over 1,300 Indigenous youth will be reached and supported to build stronger relationships with the land and their communities. We’re grateful to Manulife for their continued support of both our work and the work of Indigenous youth from coast to coast to coast.”
Alyssa Luttenberger, Director of Impact, Development and Granting, IYR
“Manulife and Indigenous Youth Roots share a commitment to helping foster healthier, more equitable communities. Manulife is proud to continue to support the work IYR is doing through the CREation Community Grants Program, helping Indigenous youth take ownership over the wellness of their peers and communities all while strengthening and amplifying their voices.”
Joanna Marcovici, Director of Community Investment – Canada Lead, Manulife

IYR has been partnering with Manulife since 2022 through our Creation Granting Program, and we’re thrilled to continue to expand our work together and create new opportunities to support and work with Indigenous youth from coast to coast to coast.
