Ryan Besito,

Culture & Instructional Designer

Ryan Besito is Anishinaabe from Saugeen First Nation and is a Pipe carrier, Eagle staff carrier and Traditional dancer for Tkaronto’s Indigenous Community.

Ryan’s brings to IYR a wealth of leadership experience that he has been gifted along his journey. This includes Supervision of an Indigenous operated and run daycare with over twenty staff, as well as the Supervisor of the “Walk in my Mocs” “Hip Hop Through Culture” and “Concrete Warriors” skills upgrading programs for Urban Indigenous youth. Ryan has also led and facilitated Indigenous Leadership training symposiums, bringing together youth from many Indigenous communities across Turtle Island.

His experience working within the Indigenous Community has afforded Ryan the opportunity to sit on the Wisdom council for Mothercraft College, Indigenous Advisory to Best Start Toronto, and the Aboriginal Education Council for Ryerson University.

His passion for culture and capacity building will continue to embody the inherent responsibility we have as Indigenous peoples to utilize the teachings we are given, everyday.
