Bio

Taylor,

Creation Advisory Circle Member

Taylor is a proud Dene and Dunne Zaa woman from the Fort Nelson First Nation with paternal roots in Prophet River First Nation. My collective traditional territories cover what is now known as Northeastern British Columbia and both of my nations are signatories to Treaty no. 8.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and I’m currently pursuing a masters in Indigenous Land Based Education at the University of Saskatchewan.

My full-time job is working for my Nation as the Community Liaison for our renewable energy project, Tu Deh-Kah Geothermal. I also serve as a Councilor for my Nation.

I have served many organizations across Canada as a Youth Advisor and currently I am a Youth Advisor on the Indigenous Advisory Council on Agriculture and Food and the Ministers Advisory Council on Indigenous Women for the province of British Columbia.

When I am not out traveling the world, advocating for Indigenous people and lands, or being an auntie to 17 (including a great-nephew!) and a dog mom to three, you can find me and my family out practicing our treaty rights of hunting, fishing and harvesting.
