Jasleen Jawanda

Jasleen Jawanda is a genderqueer Panjabi Sikh with settler and refugee heritage from Ireland and Punjab respectively. They were raised in Unama’ki and currently living in Iqaluit Nunavut. Jasleen coordinates community-based projects related to fisheries development in Nunavut and supports Inuit-led marine research. They also co-developed Ivviulutit with Jukipa Kotierk. Ivviulutit is a grass-roots organization based in Nunavut that creates space for youth to connect who are 2SLGBTQIA+ and also Inuk, Indigenous, Black or racialized.
