This year we’ve been continually reminded of the power of community to come together, care for each other, build networks of support and solidarity, and work together to create the change we hope to see for our communities.
We know that 2023 has been hard for many in our circles, and that the holidays can worsen the weight of what we’re already feeling. We’ve compiled this gift guide with the mentors, organizers, caregivers, and helpers in our lives in mind so that each section functions as a care package. We’ve included a few suggestions for no-cost gifts, activities and donations throughout as well.
We hope you’re able to spend time with your loved ones this holiday season, and encourage you to care for your mind, body, and spirit as much as you’re able to.

Rehearsals For Living by Robyn Maynard & Leanne Betasamosake Simpson
Rehearsals for Living is a captivating and visionary work—part debate, part dialogue, part lively and detailed familial correspondence between two razor-sharp writers. By articulating to each other Black and Indigenous perspectives on our unprecedented here and now, and reiterating the long-disavowed histories of slavery and colonization that have brought us to this moment, Maynard and Simpson create something new: an urgent demand for a different way forward, and a poetic call to dream up other ways of ordering earthly life.
