CRE’s Centre for Indigenous Policy and Research is pleased to launch our second round of Indigenous Youth Research Grants. This program provides small grants of $1000 to Indigenous youth who want to design, develop, and implement their own community-based research projects in Canada.

The Indigenous Youth Research Grants Program is designed to ignite grassroots youth-led research projects and to highlight emerging researchers in new ways.

No research experience required.

Join us in taking up the challenge of reconciliation.

Eligibility Checklist:

  1. Indigenous (FNMI) youth ages 18-29
  2. Desire to carry out community-based research
  3. Must be an Indigenous youth-led project, where ownership upon completion remains that of the youth. Partners are permitted but must respect the ownership of the research project.

    Following up our 2019 National Youth Reconciliation Barometer, the Indigenous Youth Reconciliation Barometer 2024 engaged solely with Indigenous youth to better understand how they envision their own empowerment and futures through exploring themes like culture, wellness, education, meaningful work, solidarity and reconciliation. Through this project, we engaged with 1,125 Indigenous youth from coast-to-coast-to-coast.
