Bonnita Preston,

she/her

Community Advisory Circle Member

Bonnita Preston is a Métis woman with the pronouns she/her. Her roots are in The Red River Métis Nation in Manitoba, Canada. Bonnita’s ancestors lived in a road allowance community, and as a child, Bonnita spent lots of time here. She was lucky to have been raised in her traditional ways of life and immersed in Métis culture. Currently, she resides in treaty 6 territory in Saskatoon, SK. Bonnita spent the last ten years of her life in service to the community through work in non-profit organizations. More recently, Bonnita is pursuing an interest in international relations, working with indigenous youth both in Canada and in the global south. She volunteers in her spare time co-leading youth projects within the decolonization movement. What brings Bonnita to the CAC is the incredible opportunity to help guide reconciliation moving forward on Turtle Island.
