Sasha Simmons,

Sasha Simmons (she/her) is a mixed Black femme community organizer living in Tio’tia:ke / Montréal, QC. She has been involved in grassroots organizing supporting 2SLGBTQ youth, incarcerated people, substance users, and racialized communities over the last 10 years; most recently as a core organizer of the Black Indigenous Harm Reduction Alliance. Sasha holds a Bachelors of Social Work from McGill University and has honed her skills in non-profit administration and program management through her work with numerous organizations at McGill and throughout the city.

Tio’tia:ke has been home for 14 years, but Sasha also holds a deep love for the peoples and lands of Treaty 6 territory (AB & SK) and Bkejwanong territory / Dawn Settlement / Dresden, ON. She is a lifelong seamstress and crafter, a friendly introvert, and a lover of art in all of its forms.
