Shayla Scott,

Creation Advisory Circle Member

Shayla Scott is a member of the Yellowknives Dene with Cree-Métis, Inuit, and mixed European heritage. She has her Science degree from Western University in Medical Biophysics. Since graduating, she has worked on refining qualitative methods of analysis in Indigenous communities at the University of Calgary.

Currently, as a member of the Indigenous Research Support Team for UCalgary, Shayla supports Indigenous scholars who are engaging in health-related research in the Cumming School of Medicine and the faculties of Nursing and Kinesiology.

She is also in the process of obtaining a Patient and Community Engagement in Research (PaCER) certification with Alberta Health Services.
