Details

The Justice program is aimed at building connections with youth across Canada by making access to justice for Indigenous youth possible. The program provides youth with an overview of the justice system and customary Indigenous justice practices. The program provides Indigenous youth with education about diversion programs, training on Gladue, and other Cultural community programming for Indigenous youth facing the justice system. This provides support to Indigenous youth currently incarcerated in open and closed detention centres, and will be carried out by and for Indigenous youth (13-29). This program strives to empower youth by ensuring that they have a voice and are actively participating within the justice system. Youth will gain knowledge and establish meaningful relationships for professional development, as well as the confidence to make connections with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities within the Canadian justice system.
